During 2018, we developed a methodology to evaluate the participation of women in three coastal fisheries in Mexico. While applying this methodology and after its implementation (2019), women and men from the organizations that collaborated in the study have shown an improved recognition of the participation of women in fisheries while giving greater importance to gender equality.

In September 2018, we held a Civics Lab for Gender Equality, that was attended by 20 participants from different organizations. The participants collaboratively developed an advocacy strategy to address the problem of the low participation of women in executive, administrative, and technical decision-making areas within fishing organizations.
We are currently working to make our dreams reality.
